IIT Palakkad MSc and MTech Admission Eligibility Criteria 2023

For M.Tech Programs

M.Tech. in Computing and Mathematics

To be eligible for the regular category of admission, candidates must possess

• i. a valid GATE score in CS/MA and
• ii. either a four year bachelor’s degree in STEM (Sciences/ Technology/ Engineering/ Mathematics) or a masters degree in Sciences / Mathematics.

To be eligible for other categories of admission where a GATE score is not mandatory as per the institute regulations (such as sponsored category, CFTI degree holders etc.), candidates must possess one of the following.

• i. a four years bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology in Computer Science and Engineering / Information Technology
• ii. a four year bachelor’s degree with Mathematics as a major
• iii. a masters degree in Mathematics

M.Tech. in Data Science

• 4 year UG degree in Engineering (BE or BTech)
• Masters in Mathematics/App. Mathematics/Statistics/ Operations Research/Physics
• GATE qualification in CS / IT / EC / EE / IN/ CE/ ME/ AE / MA / ST / PH for HTTA

M.Tech. in Geotechnical Engineering

• UG degree in Civil Engineering
• GATE qualification in CE for HTTA

M.Tech. in Manufacturing and Materials Engineering

• UG degree in Mechanical/Production Engineering/Manufacturing Engineering
• GATE qualification in ME/ PI for HTTA

M.Tech. in Power Electronics & Power Systems

• UG degree in Electrical Engineering / Instrumentation Engineering / Electrical and Electronics Engineering
• GATE qualification in EE for HTTA

M.Tech. in System-on-Chip Design

• At least a four-year degree.
• GATE qualification in CS / EE / EC / IN for HTTA

For M.Sc. Programs

• Chemistry
  • JAM (Joint Admission Test for Masters) qualified candidates having Bachelor’s degree with Chemistry as a subject for 3 years/ 6 semesters and Mathematics at (10+2) level.
• Physics
  • JAM (Joint Admission Test for Masters) qualified candidates having Bachelor’s degree with Physics as a subject for at least 2 years / 4 semesters and Mathematics for at least 1 year/ 2 semesters.
• Mathematics
  • JAM (Joint Admission Test for Masters) qualified candidates having Bachelor’s degree with Mathematics courses for at least 2 years/ 4 semesters.
