Eligibility Criteria for University of Calcutta PhD Zoology Admission 2023
- Master’s degree in zoology or any other qualification considered equivalent thereto.
- Candidates who have qualified MPhil/NET/GATE in any branch of Life Sciences are exempted from the written examination and will need to appear at the interview only.
University of Calcutta PhD Zoology Admission 2023 Application Process
- Application Form can be downloaded at the official website https://www.caluniv.ac.in/
- Filled-in application forms are to be submitted at the office of the Department after online payment of Rs.100/- (Rupees one hundred) only
- The form and challan needs to be signed by the Head, Dept. of Zoology. Last date of submission of forms is 28 March, 2023 (Tuesday).

- An application fee of Rs. 100/-
Admission Process
- Admissions will be made on the basis of a written test followed by an interview.
- Candidates who have qualified MPhil/NET/GATE in any branch of Life Sciences are exempted from the written examination and will need to appear at the interview only.
- Candidates may note the following:
- The syllabus for the written examination is available in the website.
- Number of vacancies is 15 (Fifteen), General -55%, SC-22%, OBC-17%, ST-6%
- The policy of reservation will apply in accordance with the power conferred by subsection (1) of section 8 of the W.B. State Higher Educational Institutions (Reservation in Admission) Act 2013 (West Ben Act X of 2013)
