Note:
However, the Vice-Chancellor has the discretionary power to nominate a research committee to decide the equivalence (Interdisciplinary Degree) of a degree for the admission to any PhD Program.
Selection Procedure
- Admission will be based on entrance and interview.
- The Candidates who secure 50% of marks in the entrance exam is eligible to attend the interview for admission. A relaxation of 5% of marks (50% to 45%) is allowed for the candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layers) / Differently-abled category in the Entrance Examinations.
- The selection of candidates will be based on the marks obtained by them both in the Entrance Examination and interview subject to the availability of vacancies.
- State Reservation Policy for admission will be implemented while granting the admission to the candidates.
- Candidates qualified in NET/SLET/other National Level Eligibility Test are exempted from entrance test and they have to appear for the interview only. The candidates secure 50% of the total marks altogether in Interview and PG Degree are eligible for Ph.D. admission.
- The candidates have to apply afresh if not selected in a particular session.

Note: Marks obtained in the P.G Degree should be converted to a maximum of 10. For example, if a candidate has secured 1800 marks out of 2400 in P.G Degree level, his/her marks for the qualifying examination is [1800/2400] x 10 = 7.5.

- Application for the PhD. program can be downloaded from University website at www.tnpesu.org
- A Demand Draft of Rs.750/- (For Indian Candidates) and 1500/- (for Foreign Candidates) towards the application cost should be submitted to the University along with the filled in application for PhD programme.
