About PSTET Exam
Punjab State Teacher Eligibility Test (PSTET) is a state-level exam conducted by the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) to determine the eligibility of candidates for Primary (Classes 1 to 5) and Upper Primary (Classes 6-8) level teachers in the schools of Punjab.
The PSTET exam is conducted in two levels – Paper 1 and 2.
- PSTET Paper 1 is conducted for candidates who want to become Classes 1-5 teachers
- PSTET Paper 2 is for candidates who want to become teachers of Classes 6-8.
Candidates who want to become Classes 1-8 teachers need to appear for both papers.

PSTET Notification 2023
The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) released the PSTET 2023 exam notification on 17th February 2023 on its official website https://pstet2023.org. According to the Punjab TET 2023 Notification, the PSTET exam will be conducted on 12th March 2023.

PSTET 2023 Exam Date & Timing
PSTET 2023 Exam Date was 12th March 2023. The exam is going to be conducted in two shifts for the two different papers.
Tentative Timings
The PSTET Paper 1 will be conducted from 9:30 am to 12:00 noon and the Paper 2 held from 2:30 pm to 5 pm.
Paper II was canceled. New date for PSTET 2023 Paper II is 30th April 2023.
The candidates are advised to arrive at the exam center early to avoid the pressure. The exam shift timings have been mentioned in the table below.

PSTET Eligibility Criteria 2023
- Nationality: Indian
- Number of Attempts: No limit
- Age Limit: No limit
Educational Qualification for Paper 1 – Class I to V (Primary)
- Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education.
- Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education, in accordance with the NCTE.
- Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4- year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
- Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2- year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
Educational Qualification for Paper 2 – Class VI to VIII (Upper Primary)
- Graduation and passed or appearing in the final year of 2- a year Diploma in Elementary Education.
- Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).
- Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure).
- Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4- year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
- Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4-year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed.
- Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education).

Candidates can fill the form on the official Website at http:// pstet2023.org/.

Steps to fill PSTET 2023 Application Form
Step 1: Registration
- Visit the PSTET official website- https://pstet2023.org/
- Click on ‘New Registration’.
- Enter Candidate Name, Father’s Name, email address, mobile number and confirm Email OTP and Mobile OTP.
- Once you have checked the information entered, click on the Submit button.
Step 2: Fill Personal & Educational Details
- Candidates have to enter their personal details, upload photos and signatures, and academic qualifications in the irrespective sections and columns.
- Don’t forget to save and continue before proceeding or else all the information entered will not be saved.
- The next step is to upload the signature and photograph. Click the Save and continue button once done with the uploading.
- Now, the preview form will be activated.
- Here to can preview all the information you have entered. Carefully read the entered information twice.
- You can click on the edit button if you wish to change any information.
- Once satisfied with your form click on the LOCK button.
- Remember once you have locked the form, you will not be able to change any information in the general profile and upload section.
- You can take a printout of your form for future reference by clicking on the Print button.
Step 3: Paper Selection
- Now the candidate has to select the paper they want to appear for Paper-I, Paper-II, or both papers.
- Candidates have to have to fill the education qualification column by selecting the appropriate options that describe their maximum qualification.
- Before filling in this section, candidates should go through the minimum eligibility criteria thoroughly to avoid rejection of the application form.
- Once done with the section, save and continue.
Step 4: Fee Payment
- Once you have Saved/updated and continued your application form from the last section, now you have moved on to the payment section.
- Click on the pay now option to initiate the payment procedure.
- Choose between Credit Card, Debit Card, or net banking options.
- Once done with the payment, the payment status will appear on the screen.
- Check the status and click on Logout.

*Candidates appearing from states (other than Punjab Domicile) will be considered only in the General Category with regard to fees. The same fee which is fixed for the General Category candidate (i.e. Rs. 1000/- separately each for Paper I and Paper II), is to be charged from candidates of other states.
**If dependent of Ex-servicemen, then the fee shall be paid as per categories listed above to which he / she belongs.
PSTET 2023 Exam Pattern
PSTET exam consists of two papers- Paper- I and Paper-II.
Paper-I is for the candidates interested in qualifying for the Primary Teaching jobs. Candidates who wish to qualify for the Upper Primary teaching jobs.
The PSTET 2023 Exam Pattern is different for Papers 1 and 2.
