Eligibility Criteria for MMMUT Gorakhpur PhD Admission 2023

For Engineering & Technology

• Candidates who possess 1st division Master’s degree in relevant discipline of Engineering/Technology. If a division is not awarded, and CGPA/CPI is adopted, 6.75 will be considered equivalent to first class/ division.
• A relaxation of 5% marks or its equivalent grade may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/differently-abled category and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) as per UGC Gazette notification CG-DL-E-07112022-240086 dated November 7, 2022.

For Science & Humanities

• Candidates who possess the master’s degree with 55% marks or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system from an Indian University or equivalent degree from an accredited foreign University in Physics/Chemistry/ Mathematics, relevant discipline of Humanities for admission to PhD program in Economics/English/Psychology and relevant discipline of Management for admission to Ph.D. program in Management.

• Candidate can fill online application form on www.mmmut.ac.in as per the detailed procedure given on the website.
• The candidates have to deposit the application fee online as per the provisions made in online form. The application fee is non-refundable.

Application Fee

Selection Process

• Selection will be based on Malaviya Entrance Test (MET) and Interview.
• The weightage of marks in the entrance test and interview will be in the ratio of 70% and 30%, respectively, for preparing the merit in a particular specialization.
• The total number of candidates called for interview in each specialization will be ordinarily three times (if more candidates are available) of the available seats in the respective department/specialization.

MMMUT Gorakhpur PhD Entrance 2023 (MET 2023) Details

• The admissions in PhD programs being offered in Madan Mohan Malaviya University of Technology, Gorakhpur shall be made through the Malaviya Entrance Test (MET).
• PhD Entrance test will be of objective type.
• The candidates are required to select suitable section in entrance paper for appearing in the entrance test as per their eligibility.

Schedule

The Malaviya Entrance Test (MET-2023) for admission in PhD shall be conducted on 10th June 2023 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The date is tentative, and the applicants are advised to regularly visit the university website for keeping themselves updated about examination schedule.

Pattern

• The MET-2023 shall consist of 50% of research methodology, and 50% shall be subject specific.
• Students who secure 50% marks in the entrance test are eligible to be called for the interview.
• Every objective type question would carry one marks for correct answer.
• There will be no negative marking for wrong answer. Zero marks will be awarded for unanswered questions.

Syllabus of Examination

The MET-2023 shall consist of 50% of research methodology, and 50% shall be subject specific. The subject specific test shall include objective type questions from the core subjects of the respective disciplines (Civil Engineering / Computer science & Engineering/IT/Electrical Engineering/ Electronics and Communications Engineering and Mechanical Engineering).

City of Examination

The MET for PhD admissions will be held at MMMUT Gorakhpur only.
