PhD Computer Science & Engineering
The stretch of the Doctoral programme will be for three years followed by submission of the thesis. The programme is available on full-time/part time basis.
Research scholars registered with Karnavati University need to complete one semester of coursework (included in the duration of three years), and then periodically appear before the Research and Development Committee, who monitors the scholars’ progress.
Master’s Degree with minimum 55% marks (50% marks in the case of SC, ST, OBC Non-creamy Layer and Differently-Abled and other categories as per rules of UGC or for those who had obtained their Master’s Degree prior to 19th September, 1991.)
M.Phil. Degree or equivalents are also eligible to apply.
Regular employees of Karnavati University are eligible for “In service” Ph.D. programs in their respective faculty provided they meet the eligibility criteria mentioned in UGC (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M. Phil / Ph.D. Degrees) Regulations 2016.

Candidates Working In Karnavati University, In-Service Candidates
Eligible candidates interested for Ph.D. admission in Karnavati University as full time, part time or independent research have to appear in common Entrance Test.
Candidates have to appear for Personal Interviews (PI)/Viva Voce at the concerned subject Department/School.
Exemption from Entrance Test
The candidates having one of the following qualifications shall be exempted from the entrance test –
Qualified in SET/UGC-NET, JRF/TRF, Entrance Test of CSIR/ ICAR/ICMR/DBT/DST/ etc.
M.Phil. from another UGC recognized University and whose admission has been done through the Entrance Test.
Candidates who are granted fellowship/scholarship from state/central government agencies.
Exempt from Admission test As per University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degrees) Regulations, 2016.
Total marks for the Entrance Test will be 100 for 100 MCQs each of one mark
Duration of the test will be 120 minutes.
An Entrance Test shall be conducted with minimum qualifying marks as 50%.
The syllabus of the Entrance Test shall consist of 50% of research methodology and 50% shall be subject specific.
An interview/viva-voce to be organized by the University where the candidates are required to discuss their research interest/area through a presentation before a duly constituted Department Research Committee.
The interview/viva voce shall also consider the following aspects, viz. whether:
(a) the candidate possesses the competence for the proposed research;
(b) the research work can be suitably undertaken at the Institution/College;
(c) the proposed area of research can contribute to new/additional knowledge.
