Eligibility Criteria for Institute of Physics Bhubaneswar PhD Admission 2023

Indian nationals satisfying both the following criteria are eligible to apply

• A valid CSIR-JRF / UGC-JRF fellowship OR
• A valid GATE score with rank up to 200 OR
• JEST – 2023 rank up to 500 (for PhD only)
• M.Sc. in Physics with a minimum of 55% marks (in aggregate) or equivalent cumulative CGPA.
• Candidates appearing for M.Sc. in 2023, and who satisfy the criteria mentioned above can apply. However, if selected, their admission will be provisional subject to satisfying the minimum criteria and submission of the M. Sc. certificate.)

• Candidates can apply online through the official website https://www.iopb.res.in/
• Candidates are required to register online and upload all the supporting documents and produce the same in original at the time of selection.

Selection Process

• The selection will be based on written test and interview.
• All the short-listed candidates are advised to come prepared for admission to the Ph.D. programme immediately after the declaration of results. Therefore, they need to carry all the original certificates, marksheets, AADHAR card, passport size photographs, and all other relevant documents with them.
• No accommodation will be provided during the period of 31st July – 2 nd August, 2023 (i.e. for written test and interview).
