Eligibility & Minimum Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Sciences/ Engineering/ Technology with a good academic records and also qualified GATE or UGC/CSIR NET or DST Inspire or other equivalent national level examination. OR
• B. Tech degree from any IIT with at least 8.0 CGPA on a 10.0 point scale or with a valid GATE Score. OR
• B. Tech. / B.E degree of any recognized University in India with at least 8.0 CGPA on a 10.0 point scale or equivalent with valid GATE score.

Short-listing criteria

A. M.Sc./M.S. in Physical Sciences or B.Tech. in the relevant subject with at least 55% marks (and 50% for SC/ST).

B. In addition, the applicants should have any one of the following listed criteria –

• CSIR/UGC – JRF/NET certificate with validity.
• Valid GATE cut-off rank: up to 2000 for General, 2100 for General (EWS), 2200 for OBC and 3000 for SC and 3500 for ST
• Valid JEST cut off rank: up to 600 for General, 620 for General (EWS), 650 for OBC and 700 for SC and 800 for ST)
• INSPIRE fellowship to pursue PhD program with proper validity

Shortlisting Criteria

All applicants should have M.Sc. / M.S. in Physical Sciences with at least 60% marks or CGPA 6.5 out
of 10 for GEN/GEN-EWS, (and 55% or CGPA 6 out of 10, for SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/PwD).

In addition, the applicants should have any one of the following listed criteria:

1. Qualified UGC-CSIR-JRF with score above 90 for GEN/GEN-EWS, (and above 80 for
   SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/PwD).
2. A valid GATE score above 720 for GEN/GEN-EWS, (and above 660 for
   SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/PwD)

Short-listing criteria

A. All applicants should have M.Sc. / M.S. in Physical Sciences.
B. In addition, the applicants should have any one of the following listed criteria (1-2):-

1. Qualified CSIR-UGC NET/JRF-LS score 90 or above (Gen./Gen. EWS), 85 or above (OBCNCL), 80 or above (SC/ST/PwD).
2. A valid GATE score in relevant area with GATE Score 650 or Above (Gen./Gen. EWS), 617 or above (OBC-NCL), 585 or above (SC/ST/PwD).

The candidates are requested to appear for an online interview on (Tuesday) 18th August, 2020 from 9:00 AM onwards. The shortlisted candidates may receive a separate communication from SBS Office (sbsoffice@iitmandi.ac.in) with more details.
