IIT Kanpur M.Tech Admission 2023 Eligibility Criteria
| Master of Technology (MTech) | Aerospace Engineering, Biological Sciences & Bio-Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Earth Sciences, Electrical Engineering, Industrial and Management Engg, Materials Science & Engineering, Materials Science (Interdisciplinary Programme), Mechanical Engineering, Photonics Science and Engineering, Sustainable Energy Engineering, Space Science and Astronomy | (i) A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science (4-year programme) or a Master’s degree in Science with marks/CPI not below the specified minimum. (ii) A valid GATE score is required for admission to the MTech programme in the case of regular (non-sponsored) candidates. The requirement of GATE score is waived off for the candidates with the B Tech/BS (Four Year) degree from IITs with a minimum overall CPI of 6.5 and a minimum CPI of 8.0 in the last two years in B Tech/BS (Four Year). |

| Master of Technology (MTech) in Cognitive Systems | Cognitive Science | B.Tech./BE (any branch), BS 4year program (Physics/ Chem/ Math/ Stat/Biosciences/ related sciences). An applicant must have a minimum of 60% or 6.0/10 in the qualifying degree. All regular applicants must have a valid score/qualification in GATE. Applicants with B.Tech. from IITs with an overall grade point average of 6.5/10 or higher and 8.0/10.0 in the last two years. |

IIT Kanpur M.Tech Admission 2023 Application Process
- The online applications portal will be available from March 22 (Wednesday), 02:00 pm to April 11 (Tuesday), 02:00 pm.
- Indian as well as Foreign Nationals can apply only through online mode of application. The last date for receiving applications in online modes is April 11 (Tuesday), 02:00 pm.
- All the admission offers to GATE qualified-candidates will be displayed on the Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP). Candidates must register at the COAP portal for viewing and accepting their offers. Registration on COAP portal is free. Candidates are advised to download COAP 2023 information brochure and follow the guidelines (https://coap.iitkgp.ac.in/) for participation. For these candidates, COAP Registration number is mandatory for applying at the IIT Kanpur Admission Portal. The offers to candidates who have not qualified GATE will be communicated directly to the candidates by the department via E-mail.
- Separate application form is to be filled for each programme.
