JAM 2024 Application Form – The upcoming Joint Admission Test for Masters will be conducted on 11th February 2024 and the online form registration started from 05 September 2023. Students who want to appear for the examination have to apply online through JAM website.

JAM 2024 Application Procedure

Candidates can apply for JAM 2024 only through the JAM Online Application Processing System (JOAPS) link available at the JAM website

A candidate has to first register on the JOAPS website by providing his/her name, a valid E-mail address, a working mobile number and a password.

After successful registration an e-mail containing the candidate’s Enrolment ID will be sent to the e-mail address and mobile number provided by the candidate.

The candidate needs to use this enrolment ID along with the password for all JAM 2024 related communications or website operations. 

Keep the ID and password information safe and confidential.

Application Fee

Application fee has to be paid online. The candidate will be able to make the payment using his/her net-banking account, debit or credit card. Additional bank charges apply.

Requirements to Fill the JAM Application Form

Before applying for JAM Exam aspirants are advised to keep all the documents and information ready.

JOAPS portal provides an online interface to the candidate for interacting with the JAM 2024 Administration. With this interface, a candidate can:

  • Apply for the examination online.
  • Upload photograph, signature, and other documents like certificate (for OBC-NCL / EWS / SC / ST / PwD)
  • Pay the application fee through any of the electronic payment modes.
  • Check the status of the application form such as Received, Under scrutiny, Accepted, Defect status, Status after rectification, Rejected with valid reasons, and Admit card ready for download.

Data Requirement for Filling the Application Form:

The following information will be required while filling the form at JOAPS portal:

  • Personal information (name, e-mail id, date of birth, mobile number, parent’s/guardian’s name, parent’s/ guardian’s mobile number, etc.)
  • Name of the candidate in the application form must exactly be the same as per Qualifying degree.
  • JAM 2024 Admit Card and Scorecard will be issued as per the name entered in the application form. Prefix/title such as Mr/Shri/Dr/Ms/Mrs/Smt, etc. should NOT be used.
  • Address for communication including PIN code
  • Details of Eligibility degree
  • Name and address with PIN code of the College/Institute/University
  • Choice of JAM Test Paper(s)
  • Choice of JAM Examination Cities
  • Details of the Photo Identity Document (ID). Any one of the following Photo ID: Aadhaar ID, Driving License, PAN Card, Passport, or Voter ID. The specified Photo Id, in original, should be carried by the candidate to the examination centre.
  • Document to be Upload:
  • Scanned copy of High-quality image of the candidate’s photograph and signature
  • Scanned copy of 10th standard (SSC) Marksheet.
  • Scanned copy of the Category (OBC-NCL/EWS/SC/ST) Certificate (if applicable) as per guidelines Click here
  • Scanned copy of Physical Disability Certificate (if applicable) or Unique Disability Identification (UDID) certificate Click here
  • Mode of Payment – Net banking / Debit card / Credit card / UPI details for fee payment. The application fee will be automatically determined based on the category, gender, and number of Test Paper(s) that have been opted by the candidate.
  • JOAPS allows the candidate to enter the data, save a partially filled form, log out and resume filling by logging in again. The JOAPS portal is self-explanatory and user-friendly.

Note:

  1. Candidates are strongly advised to fill the application form on their own. If someone else is filling the application on behalf of the candidate, the candidate must ensure that the data submitted are correct.
  2. Candidates must give an e-mail address that they use frequently, as all communication to the candidate for JAM 2024 will be sent to this e-mail address.
  3. The candidate must not use somebody else’s e-mail address and only one candidate can be registered with one E-mail address.
  4. Similarly, candidates should provide their personal mobile number and are advised to use the same number until the admission is completed because most of the communication may also be sent via SMS.
  5. A candidate should submit only one application form even if the candidate wants to appear for two Test Papers. Multiple applications submitted by a candidate are liable for rejection. Hence, DO NOT submit multiple application forms.
  6. Applicants are requested to periodically check the website for the status of the application or/and information. They should also check the messages sent to their registered email id and mobile number.

You must fulfill the JAM Eligibility criteria for applying JAM application. You must check it before filling the registration form.

JAM 2024 Application Form – Photograph/Signature Requirements

Photograph Requirements

  • Please pay attention to upload only a good quality recent photograph. JAM 2024 Admit Card and Scorecard will be printed with the photograph that you submit during application.
  • The photograph must match with your appearance on the day of the examination.
  • A passport size (3.5 cm Width × 4.5 cm Height) photograph of the face of the candidate is required for the application form.
  • The photograph must be recent and must be in COLOUR. Photographs of poor resolution taken using a mobile phone and other self-composed portraits may result in the rejection of the application.
  • The photograph is required in JPEG/JPG format and must be of size 3.5 cm × 4.5 cm (Width × Height).
  • Maximum size of the JPEG/JPG image can be 480×640 in pixels (0.3 Mega pixel).
  • The minimum pixel size of the JPEG/JPG image should be 240×320 in pixels. The file size of the image should be in the range of 50 kB to 200 kB.
  • Background of the photograph must be white or a very light colour.
  • The face should occupy at least 50% of the area of the photograph with a full-face view looking into the camera directly.
  • The main features of the face must not be covered by hair of the head, any cloth/facemask or any shadow. Forehead, eyes, nose and chin should be clearly visible.
  • If glare cannot be avoided then take the photo without the spectacles
  • You must not wear spectacles with dark or tinted glasses, only clear glasses are permitted.
  • Poor quality of the photograph submitted will lead to rejection of your JAM application, without any refund of the application fee.

Signature Requirements

  • Please draw a rectangular box of size 2 cm x 7 cm (Height x Width) on a white paper. Sign with black or dark blue ink pen completely within this box horizontally.
  • A signature with all CAPITAL LETTERS, Initials or in any other colour (other than black and blue) will NOT be accepted.
  • Get the digital image of the rectangular box (with your signature inside) scanned by using a professional scanner. Crop it to the border of the box.
  • Only JPEG/JPG image format will be accepted.
  • The maximum image size of the signature should be 160×560 in pixels.
  • The minimum image size of the signature should be 80×280 in pixels.
  • The file size of the image should be in the range of 50 kB to 150 kB.

Category Certificate

  • Candidates who belong to the following categories need to upload a valid category and/or PwD certificate
    • Other Backward Classes – Non-Creamy Layer ( OBC-NCL)
    • Economically Weaker Section ( EWS )
    • Scheduled Caste ( SC )
    • Scheduled Tribe ( ST )
    • Persons with benchmark Disability ( PwD )
  • For OBC-NCL, EWS, SC and ST categories, certificate issued ONLY by authorized officials (refer Annexure V) shall be valid.
  • OBC-NCL and EWS certificate should be submitted in the prescribed format and should have been issued on or after April 1, 2023.
    If no valid OBC-NCL/ EWS certificate is submitted, the candidate will be treated under the General category.
  • The format for OBC-NCL Certificate is given in Annexure VI.
  • The format for EWS Certificate is given in Annexure VII.
  • Physical Disability Certificate for applicants of PwD category should meet the requirements specified in PwD Guidelines.

Note: Candidates should upload scanned copy of the relevant certificate in PDF format of file size in the range 10 KB to 300 KB. Candidates shall be required to submit the same certificate during Admissions and also to the Admitting Institute.

JAM 2024 Application Form – Registration Process

Step 1 – Register through JAM Online Application Processing System (JOAPS)

Go to the JOAPS Website.

Click on Register Here if you are new user and fill all the details asked such as name, email and password, mobile number, etc.

Click on the “Submit” button.

You will get a confirmation message and a unique Enrolment ID through e-mail or SMS after submitting the required details.

Keep your ID and password safe. 

Step 2 – Fill the Complete Details Asked in Application Form

Log in to the JOAPS portal using your Enrolment ID and password to complete the form filling process.

A welcome screen will open showing application status. Click on “Edit Application Form” button.

After clicking on it, you will be redirected to on the following page. Fill all the required details and upload your scanned photograph and signature.

Choose exam centers choices. 

Check all the details you have filled. Then Mark the checkbox to accept the declaration and click on Proceed to Payment.

Step 3 – Submit Online Application Fee Payment

Choose any mode of payment to submit the fee from available options such as Card Payment, Net Banking, or Other Payment Modes.

Fill the captcha and Proceed to Payment.

Fill all the required details asked for online payment and Make Payment.

After that you will get a confirmation message “Online Payment made successfully”. You must save the form PDF for further use.

Important Note-

In case of weak internet connection or power failure or any other reason, if you are not sure about your fee payment status kindly login again and look for your payment status.

Correction in JAM Application Form 2024

JAM 2024 Portal expected to be open during Nov 2023 for add/change Test Paper(s), change of data related to Exam City, Gender, Category or Addition or Change of Test Paper.

Fee for Change in Examination City

The fee for changing preference of the examination cities is Rs. 300/-. Note that payment of the fee does not necessarily guarantee the change of city. The decision of the Organizing Institute, JAM 2024, in this regard will be final.
