IISER Bhopal Integrated PhD Physics Admission 2024

Minimum Qualification

Bachelor’s Degree in the relevant discipline with a minimum of 60% marks or CGPA/CPI of 7.0 on a 10 point scale, obtained not earlier than 2023. Candidates appearing in the final year examination of their Bachelor’s Degree in 2024 are highly encouraged to apply. Additionally, the applicants should qualify the nationwide aptitude test, Joint Entrance Screening Test (JEST) or Joint Admission test for Masters (JAM) in Physics.

JEST/JAM is mandatory for applying to Integrated PhD program in Physics at IISER Bhopal. To apply for the Integrated PhD program in Physics at IISER Bhopal, you are required to have qualified JEST/JAM in 2023/2024. Candidates will be shortlisted for an offline written test to be conducted by IISER Bhopal on the basis of their JEST/JAM rank. There may be an interview of the candidates who successfully clear the written test for the final selection.

If the transcript/grade sheet issued by the Institute/University reports:

• Only marks, percentage will be considered.
• Only grades, CGPA/CPI will be considered. If CGPA/CPI is reported on any scale other than 10 (eg. 4 point/ 8 point scale), an equivalent CGPA/CPI will be calculated as per the following formula: CGPA/CPI in a 10 point scale = (CGPA/CPI Obtained×10)/PS; PS = Point scale used by the Institute/University.
• Marks and CGPA/CPI then Percentage equivalent of CGPA/CPI, as indicated on the transcript/grade sheet, will be considered, if absolute grading was followed.
• CGPA/CPI ONLY will be considered, if relative grading was followed.

Selection Procedure

• Shortlisted candidates will be called for a written/online test. Date of test will be communicated to shortlisted candidates by e-mail and the same will be available on the Institute website.
• There may be an online/offline interview round for final selection.
• TA will be paid to SC/ST/PD candidates appearing for the test as per Govt. of India norms.

Minimum Qualification

Bachelor’s Degree in the relevant discipline with a minimum of 60% marks or CGPA/CPI of 7.0 on a 10 point scale, obtained not earlier than 2023. Candidates appearing in the final year examination of their Bachelor’s Degree in 2024 are also eligible to apply. Additionally, the applicants should qualify the nationwide aptitude test, Joint Admission Test for M.Sc. (JAM), and the JAM rank MUST be valid at the time of admission.

If the transcript/grade sheet issued by the Institute/University reports:

• Only marks, percentage will be considered.

Fellowship

• All admitted students will receive a fellowship of Rs. 12,400/- per month till the end of the third year (subject to fulfilling the minimum CPI requirements). Subsequently, a revised fellowship will be provided as per Ministry of Education norms/guidelines.
