M.Des. in Integrated Product Design

The purpose of the M.Des.. program in Integrated Product Design is to produce design leaders who have the courage and confidence to identify, and resolve paradoxical challenges through creative, smart and contextually relevant products.

Program Objectives

• To nurture curiosity, aesthetic sense, creative confidence, and self-directed learning
• To cultivate critical thinking, and social and environmentally responsible behaviours
• To develop the courage and ability to lead change and demonstrate design leadership
• To encourage product innovation in areas that can lead to Atmanirbhar Bharat

IIITDM Kancheepuram M.Des. Admission 2022 Important Dates

Eligibility Criteria

Category 1: Regular with CEED

• Bachelor degree in Engineering/Design/Architecture (under 10+2+4 yrs regular) with Minimum of 60% marks (55% marks in case of SC/ST/PwD) or equivalent grades in the qualifying degree.
• Candidate should have qualified through Common Entrance Exam for design for 2021 (CEED 2022)
• CEED category students are eligible for MoE stipend of INR 12,400/- pm for a maximum duration of 24 months. The MoE stipend is paid subject to fulfillment of respective teaching assistant responsibilities and CGPA criteria

Category 2: Self/Sponsored/Industry Person/ QIP without CEED

• Bachelor degree in Engineering/Design/Architecture (under 10+2+4 yrs regular) with Minimum of 60% marks (55% marks in case of SC/ST/PwD) or equivalent grades in the qualifying degree.
• At least 2 years of work experience in R&D organization, industry, academic/institution, Govt. organization, etc.
• Sponsored candidates are requested to submit sponsorship letters in a prescribed format from the employer along with application.
• Non-CEED category students are not eligible for the MoE stipend. However, they may apply for other scholarships offered by private/government bodies.

• All the candidates meeting the eligibility criteria are required to submit online applications in the institute portal.
• Read information brochure carefully before filling application form.

• Application fees for various categories (in Indian Rupees)

Selection Procedure

• In case of candidates having valid CEED score, a category-wise merit list would be prepared based on the CEED score of the eligible candidates and called for interview
• In the case of Self-sponsored/Industry-sponsored/QIP persons without CEED score, the selection shall be based on a written test and/or interview conducted by the institute. It is mandatory for these candidates to attend both written test and interview to qualify for the admission process. The syllabus will be communicated with the candidates to be called for a written test and interview.
