HNGU PhD Admission 2021-22 Important Dates

Eligibility Criteria for HNGU PhD Admission 2021-22

• Candidates can apply in the subject in which they have post graduate degree.
• Candidate must possess required qualification as on last date of filling up application form. In case result of the candidate is declared as on last date of application but hard copy of marksheet is not received, in such cases he/she has to upload print copy of result downloaded from the website of concerned university.
• A candidate(s) seeking admission in Ph.D. must have Master’s Degree in relevant subject with atleast 55%(Without Grassing) marks and 50 %(Without Grassing) Marks for SC/ST/OBC-Non Creamy Layer/ differently abled candidates having more than 40%disability) in aggregate or its equivalent grade in the UGC 7- point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever the grading system is followed) in the subject chosen for research. The Non-creamy layer Certificate is valid for the time period as specified by the government time to time

Selection Procedure

• All candidates will be selected on the basis of written test and Interview.
• Those candidates who have passed UGC–NET/SET/ CSIR NET and M.Phil. (as per UGC regulation 2009) shall be exempted from entrance test. They shall be considered for admission in the category only in which they have passed the examination. Further, the candidates who have qualified master degree from universities other than HNGU shall be considered for admission in respective category only.

HNGU PhD Entrance Test

• The syllabi of entrance test for Ph.D. programme will be as per UGC guidelines i.e. 50% from Research Methodology followed in the subject and 50% subject specific.
• Syllabus for the Entrance Examination of Research Methodology shall be put on University website and Subject specific Questions shall be as per the UGC/CSIR NET Syllabus.
• The entrance test shall be of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) only.
• The MCQ test structure shall consist of 100 MCQs of 100 marks. Each question will carry 01 mark.
• The Research Methodology of 50 MCQs will constitute questions related to English Proficiency, Reasoning Ability, Basic Computer Skills; each of 5 questions – total 15 and 35 Questions of subject specific Research Methodology.
• The subject specific of 50 MCQs shall be asked from concerned subjects.
• Passing standard of the entrance examination shall be 50% (45 % for SC/ST/OBC-Non Creamy Layer and Differently Abled candidates having more than 40% Disability).

Structure of Question Paper for PhD Entrance Examination

The Entrance Examination shall be of objective type with 100 Multiple Choice Questions as per the scheme given below:

• Section: I
  • Research Methodology (Subject Wise) 35 MCQ Questions of 35 Marks
  • English Proficiency 5 MCQ Questions of 5 Marks
  • Reasoning Ability 5 MCQ Questions of 5 Marks
  • Basic Computer Skill 5 MCQ Questions of 5 Marks
• Section: II
  • Subject Specific 50-MCQ Questions of 50 Marks

There shall be a separate Syllabus for each subject for section: I and Section: II Syllabus for Ph.D.

The above questions related to English Proficiency and Basic Computer Skills will be asked in English medium only
