Haldia Government College UG Admission 2022 Eligibility Criteria
- Honours Degree Course: Qualifying Higher Secondary or equivalent examination 2022 with minimum 45% marks in aggregate to be calculated by adding the marks obtained in best five subjects excluding Environmental Studies) or 50% marks in subject or related subject.
- General Degree Course: Pass marks in at least five subjects in Higher Secondary or equivalent examination.
Other Important Information:
- Any candidate seeking admission to a course in laboratory based subjects must have obtained pass marks in those subjects / relevant subjects at the Higher Secondary level.
- In addition to the above any candidate seeking admission to Honours course in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics must have passed in Mathematics in Higher Secondary or equivalent examination.
- Any candidate seeking admission to Honours courses in Anthropology, Economics, Education, Sociology or Statistics and not having these subjects at H.S. or equivalent level, must have any one of the following relevant subjects in Higher Secondary or equivalent course:
- Anthropology – Biology/ English
- Economics – Mathematics
- Education – History
- Sociology – Political Science / History / Psychology
- Statistics – Mathematics
- Candidates who have passed the qualifying examination in 2020 and 2021 may also apply.
- Candidates who have passed 10+2 level examinations from West Bengal Council of Vocational Education and Training Board or Open School are eligible to apply for only B.A general courses and B.A. (Major) course in Tourism and Travel Management.
- The candidates who will opt for Physical Education will have to pass a qualifying examination after commencement of class. If they fail to qualify the test they are to opt for other subject.

Haldia Government College UG Admission 2022 Application Process
- Applicants should register in the online admission portal https://ug.hgc.onlineadmission.xyz/. They should remember their user id, password, registered mobile number, Roll No. / Registration No. / Unique No. in 10+2 and email id. All these parameters would be required if the applicant is selected for admission after generation of merit list.
- Applicants are advised to make choice of the subjects wisely during application procedure. Random requests for change of subject after initiation of admission procedure may not be entertained by the college authority.
- Applicants are advised to avoid any typographical error. Any wrong information furnished in the application as a result of typing error may lead to cancellation of the application. The college authority has the right to cancel any application if it is proved to be erroneous during verification. Application not accompanied by proper supporting documents will also be cancelled.
- The online Application Fee has been waived off vide Memo. No. 507-Edn(CS)/10M-95/14 dated 30.06.2022 issued by Department of Higher Education, Government of west Bengal.
- Applicants belonging to reserved categories (SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, PWD etc.) and enlisted in the provisional merit list must upload their caste/ disability certificates at the time of submission of online application and produce the same for verification on the date of commencement of class, if they get the chance of admission.
- Applicants belonging to Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and enlisted in the provisional merit list must upload the certificate from competent authority at the time of submission of online application and produce the same for verification on the date of commencement of class, if they get the chance of admission.

- Candidates who have passed 10+2 examination before 2022 must submit an undertaking stating that he/she has not taken any admission in any other college or not registered to any university. If the candidate is registered to any other University, standard norms of the Vidyasagar University in addition to eligibility criteria of the college will apply for new admission.
Selection Process
- Admission to all courses will be done strictly on the basis of merit as per the Government Order. Reservation of seats will be followed as per govt. norms.
- All admissions done on online system are absolutely provisional. Admission will be cancelled out-rightly if the information stated in the application are found not in conformity with the documents submitted at the time of verification or any fake document is produced. Therefore, all applicants are requested to be very careful at the time of submission of information submitted in the admission web-portal of the college.

Merit Point Calculation
- Admission will be done on merit basis and merit point for admission in Honours courses is to be calculated by adding 10% of total marks obtained in the best five subjects excluding Environmental Studies at Higher Secondary/ equivalent examination and the marks obtained in the subject or related subject in which the admission in Honours course is sought.
- The merit points for admission to General courses are to be calculated by adding the marks obtained in best five subjects excluding Environmental Studies of H.S. / equivalent examination.
- Candidates who desire to take admission in Tourism and Travel Management (TTM), a self-financed course are advised to visit the page on self-financed courses in the college website for fee structure and other details.
Note:
- If more candidates score same merit point, preference will be given to the one who has scored higher marks in the subject, in this way, if more candidates have same merit points and same marks in the subject; preference will be given to the candidate who has scored higher marks in 1st Language/ 2nd Language.
- If more candidates have same merit points, same marks in the subject and same marks in in 1st Language/ 2nd Language preference will be given to the candidate who has scored higher marks in the 10 level (Madhyamik/ ICSE/CBSE etc.) Examination.
- If an applicant gets admission on the basis of higher marks scored in 10 level Examination, he/ she is to produce the Mark sheet of the said examination at the time of verification of documents on the date of commencement of classes.
