MH SET 2023 – Maharashtra State Eligibility Test is conducted once every year by Savitribai Phule Pune University for the post of Assistant Professor in the states of Maharashtra and Goa. MH SET 2023 Eligibility Criteria

Check all the details about MH SET Eligibility Criteria as per the notification released by Pune University. The UNIPUNE SET Eligibility Criteria includes  details about age limit, educational qualification, minimum marks required, etc. 

MH-SET Age Limit

There is no upper age limit to appear for Maharashtra SET 2023.

MH-SET Educational Qualification

  • The candidates must have Master’s Degree recognized by U.G.C., in a subject of SET. The candidates having Post Graduate diploma/certificate awarded by Indian University/Institute or a Foreign degree/diploma/certificate awarded by the Foreign University/Institute should in their own interest, ascertain the equivalence*of their diploma/degree/certificate, with Master’s degree of recognized Indian Universities, from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi (www.aiu.ac.in).
  • The candidates other than SC/ST/OBC/SBC/DT(VJ)/NT/Transgender/PwD/Orphans, who have secured at least 55% marks (without gracing or rounding off)in Master’s or equivalent examination, are eligible for this test. The OBC/ SBC/DT(VJ)/NT [belonging to non-creamy layer] and SC/ST//Trans-genders/PwD/Orphans who have secured at least 50% marks (without gracing or rounding off) in Master’s or equivalent Examination are eligible for this test. The candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/ DT (A)(VJ)/ NT (B,C,D)/ SBC including PwD & Orphans, must ensure that they have a valid category certificate from the Govt. of Maharashtra & Goa.
  • The candidates who are studying in the first year of two years Master’s Course or in first two semesters of a four-semester course of Master’s Degree or studying in the fourth year of Five year Integrated Masters Course, are not eligible to appear for this test.
  • Candidates can appear for SET in the subject of their Post-Graduation only e.g. Commerce: M.Com., Environmental Science, M.Sc. Env. Sci., Life Science, M.Sc. Life Science/Botany/Zoology/Microbiology/ Biotechnology etc., Home Science : M.Sc., M.A. Home Science (Refer prospectus for list of SET and P.G. subjects). If a post-graduate subject of any candidate is not included in the list of SET subjects, such Candidates can appear for SET in a related or equivalent subject.
  • As per the U.G.C. rules the candidates who have passed M.Sc. (by PPPR/Research) are not eligible for the SET.
  • A candidate who has already qualified SET in a subject will not be allowed to appear again for SET in the same subject. The candidates violating this rule will be liable for Initiating legal action and shall not be issued a certificate.

  • Visit the official website https://setexam.unipune.ac.in/.
  • Click on ‘Apply Now‘ to register on the website using a valid e-mail I.D and password.
  • The Username & password will be available on your registered email id.
  • Please note the credentials for future purposes too.
  • You can now fill the complete application form and click on ‘Submit‘.
  • After that a unique Application Number will be generated.
  • Upload a Scanned Photo and Signature
  • Make the payment.
  • Download the application form and keep it for future reference.

MH SET 2023 Examination Centres

The MH-SET will be conducted at the following 17 city centers only –

Mumbai, Pune, Kolhapur, Solapur, Ahmednagar, Nashik, Dhule, Jalgaon, Aurangabad, Nanded, Amravati, Nagpur, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, Panjim (Goa), Ratnagiri & Parbhani.

MH SET 2023 Admit Card

The MH SET Admit Card will be available soon on the official website. Savitribai Phule Pune University releases the MH SET 2023 admit card on 16 March 2023.

MH SET Answer Key 2023

The Savitribai Phule Pune University will release the provisional and final MH SET Answer Key separately. Within a week of conducting exam the university will release the provisional answer key on the official website. Candidates will get a chance to challenge the provisional answer key. The final answer key will be released after the corrections (if any).

MH SET Exam Pattern 2023

The SET will be conducted offline in Objective Mode.

The Maharashtra State Eligibility Test (MH SET) 2023 Exam is an objective type examination. The exam consists of two papers which will be held in two sessions without a break on the same day.

Paper Details

  • Paper – I
    • Paper-I shall be of general nature, intended to assess the teaching/research aptitude of the candidate. It is primarily designed to test reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate. Paper I shall consist of fifty (50) objective type compulsory questions, two marks each.
  • Paper – II
    • Paper-II shall consist of hundred (100) objective type compulsory questions, (except mathematical science) based on the subject selected by the candidate. Each question will carry two marks. In Mathematical Science, a student has to attempt all questions (100) either from Sections I & II or from Sections I & III only. The OMR sheets with questions attempted from both sections viz., II & III, will be rejected.

MH SET Exam Syllabus 2023

The Maharashtra State Eligibility Test for the States of Maharashtra & Goa will be conducted based on syllabi of UGC-NET & UGC-CSIR-NET.
