About CSIR NET Exam
CSIR-UGC NET Exam is a national level examination being conducted to determine the eligibility of Indian nationals for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and for Lectureship (LS) /Assistant Professor in Indian universities /colleges subject to the eligibility criteria laid down by UGC.
Generally CSIR NET exam is conducted in the month of June and December.
Earlier the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) was conducting the CSIR NET exam. Now they have given the responsibility of conducting CSIR NET to NTA (National Testing Agency).
NTA will conduct Computer Based Test (CBT) for following subjects:
- Mathematical Sciences
- Physical Sciences (Physics)
- Life Sciences
- Chemical Sciences
- Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences

Essential Educational Qualifications
Qualifying Degrees
- M.Sc.
- Integrated BS-MS
- BS-4 Years
- B.Tech
- B.Pharma
- MBBS or Equivalent
Qualifying Marks
Candidate should qualified the above degrees with atleast 55% aggregate marks for General (UR)/General-EWS and OBC candidates and 50% for Persons with SC/ST, Disability (PwD) candidates.
Age Limit
For JRF – 28 Years ( relaxable up to 5 years in case of SC/ST/Persons with Disability(PwD)/ female applicants and 03 years in case of OBC (Non Creamy Layer) applicants)
For LS – No Age Limit

CSIR NET Mathematics Exam Pattern
CSIR NET Mathematics question paper will consist of three parts –
- Part A
- Part B
- Part C
Part A comprises the questions from General Aptitude and General Science.
Part B and Part C will be based on the questions from CSIR NET Mathematics Syllabus.

CSIR NET Mathematical Sciences Cutoff Marks
There will be separate Cutoff for JRF and LS in CSIR NET Mathematical Science Exam.
Cutoff will be for overall marks obtained in three sections and there is no sectional Cutoff.
