Eligibility Criteria for EFLU Hyderabad PG Diploma & PhD Admission 2022

• PG Diploma Programs : Master’s Degree holders in related field with with 55% marks for general/ OBC candidates, and 50% marks for SC/ ST/ Differently-abled category candidates (The eligibility marks may be relaxed by 5% for sponsored candidates.)
• Ph.D. Programs : Master’s Degree holders in related field with with 55% marks for general/ OBC candidates, and 50% marks for SC/ ST/ Differently-abled category candidates (The eligibility marks may be relaxed by 5% for sponsored candidates.)

EFLU Hyderabad PG Diploma & PhD Admission 2022 Application Process

• Candidates can apply online through the University website https://www.efluniversity.ac.in.
• The prescribed entrance test fee should only be paid online (by credit card/debit card/net-banking).
• All courses and programmes are full-time.
• A candidate can apply for a maximum of two courses/ programmes. However, a candidate cannot apply for the same course/programme at two campuses.

Hyderabad PG Diploma & PhD Entrance Test 2022

The entrance tests for Postgraduate Diploma courses, and Ph.D. programmes will be held on 4 June 2022 (Saturday) in two sessions.

Morning Session (Shift 1) 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., OR 9 a.m. to 12 noon on 4 June 2022 (Saturday)

• Ph.D. Aesthetics and Philosophy
• Ph.D. Comparative Literature
• Ph.D. Education
• Ph.D. English Language Education
• Ph.D. English Literature
• Ph.D. Film Studies and Visual Culture
• Ph.D. Cultural Studies
• Ph.D. Indian and World Literatures
• Ph.D. Linguistics and Phonetics
• Ph.D. Translation Studies
• Ph.D. Social Exclusion Studies
• Ph.D. Media and Communication
• Postgraduate Diploma in the Teaching of Arabic (PGDTA)

In the morning session (Shift 1) the candidates can select

• a maximum of TWO Ph.D. programmes from the list of PhD programmes. Then, the entrance test will be held from 9 am to 12 pm, as the proficiency test is common for both the programmes.
• one PhD programme only. Then, the entrance test will be held from 9 to 11 am.
• one PhD programme in the morning session (9 am to 11 am) and one course (PGDTE or PGDT) in the afternoon session (2 pm to 4 pm).
• PGDTA, in which case, the entrance test will be held from 9 am to 11 am.
• PGDTA in the morning session (9 am to 11 am) and Ph.D. Arabic Language and Literature in the afternoon session (2 pm to 4 pm)
• Please note that candidates CANNOT combine PhD programme(s) with PGDTA in the morning session (Shift 1)).

Afternoon Session (Shift 2) 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., OR 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on 4 June 2022 (Saturday)

• Ph.D. Arabic Language and Literature
• Ph.D. French Language and Literature
• Ph.D. German Language and Literature
• Ph.D. Russian Language and Literature
• Ph.D. Spanish Language and Literature
• Ph.D. Hindi
• Postgraduate Diploma in the Teaching of English (PGDTE)
• Postgraduate Diploma in Translation (PGDT)

In the afternoon session (Shift 2) the candidates can select

• one programme from the Ph.D. programmes listed. The entrance test will be held from 2 to 4 pm.
• either PGDTE or PGDT, in which case, the entrance test will be held from 2 to 4 pm.
• both PGDTE and PGDT, in which case, the entrance test will be held from 2 to 5 pm, as these courses share a common proficiency component.

Please note that candidates CANNOT select one PhD programme and one PG Diploma course in the afternoon session (Shift 2)

Important Note

• A candidate can apply for a maximum of two courses/ programmes. The combination can be one course and one programme, or two courses, or two programmes.
• If a candidate is provisionally selected in both the courses that he/ she has applied for, provisional admission will be offered in the course in which the candidate scores higher marks in the entrance test.

Note for UGC NET/ UGC JRF Qualified Candidates

• Candidates who have qualified the UGC NET / UGC JRF in the subject concerned are exempted from appearing in the written component of the entrance test for admission to a Ph.D. programme offered by the EFL University.
• These candidates are required to upload the UGC –NET Award Letter/ UGC JRF Certificate at the time of application and produce the original certificate at the time of the interview.
• The interview is for 30 marks. The marks that these candidates score out of 30 at the interview will be calculated out of 100 and their rank is ordered accordingly along with the marks of other candidates.
