Eligibility Criteria
- The candidate must have secured at least 55% marks in PG examination in the concerned subject. {For SC/ST/OBC (Non creamy layer)/Divyang candidates there will be relaxation of 5% marks}.
- To be eligible, the applicant must have qualified any of the following:
- (i) UGC- JRF
- (ii) UGC-NET
- (iii) UGC-CSIR -JRF
- (iv) UGC-CSIR NET
- (v) ICAR- JRF/SRF
- (vi) ICMR-JRF
- (vii) DBT-JRF
- (viii) SLET
- (ix) Teacher Fellowship Holder
- (x) M.Phil.
- (xi) Himachal Pradesh Kendriya Vishwavidyalaya Shodh Patrata Pariksha (HPKVSPP)
- 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/OBC -Non creamy layer/Divyang candidates) will be required to qualify the entrance test.
- The candidates awarded with JRF shall be exempted from entrance test. All remaining candidates (including those with NET/SLET/Teacher Fellowship Holder/MPhil etc.) are mandatorily required to appear in PhD entrance test.
CUHP PhD Admission Selection Process 2022 (Nov)
The candidates have to qualify the entrance test (HPKVSPP).
The candidates who will qualify the entrance test shall move to second stage of selection process. This second stage will include interaction and interview/viva-voce and shall have following weightage given to different components :
- UG Degree in Concerned Relevant Subject: 10% of Percentage of Marks obtained
- PG Degree in Concerned relevant Subject: 30% of Percentage of Marks obtained
- JRF / NET / SLET / M.Phil./HPKVSPP: 20 Marks for JRF / (All other remaining candidates will be given 20% weightage of the marks obtained in Entrance Test)
- Subject Knowledge: 10 Marks
- Concept Note (to be prepared by candidate) and its presentation: 10 Marks
- Communication Skills: 10 Marks
- Interview and Viva-Voce: 10 Marks
- Total Marks / Total Composite Score (Maximum Composite Score): 100 Marks
The admission of candidates to Ph.D. programme shall be made on the basis of merit drawn in accordance to above criteria i.e. out of 100 marks (Maximum Composite score).
Pattern of HPKVSPP 2022 (Nov)
- The syllabus of the entrance test shall comprise of 50% research methodology and 50% subject specific knowledge related content.
- Entrance test shall comprise of 100 marks with 20% weightage in composite score (Candidates with JRF shall be given 20 marks).

HPKVSPP 2022 (Oct) Pattern
- There will be two papers.
- Each paper shall have 60 multiple choice type questions of one mark each.
- There will be no negative marking
- The duration of the examination will be of two hours
Paper – I (General Aptitude) {60 Marks}
- This paper will be same and mandatory for all the candidates and will contain four sections.
- Section – A : Logical Reasoning and Analytical Ability (15 Marks)
- Section – B : General Mental Ability (15 Marks)
- Section – C : Comprehension Ability and Situation Analysis (15 Marks)
- Section – D : Quantitative Aptitude (15 Marks)
Paper – II (60 Marks)
- Paper – II will be subject specific and will have the questions designed to assess the knowledge of the candidate in the concerned subject (According to the syllabus for UGCNET).

Himachal Pradesh Kendriya Vishwavidyalaya Shodh Patrata Pariksha (HPKVSPP 2021)
A certificate will be issued by the University to the candidates who qualify the Himachal Pradesh Kendriya Vishwavidyalaya Shodh Patrata Pariksha by securing minimum 50% marks. (45% for SC/ST/OBC(Non creamy layer)/Divyang candidates).
This certificate will be valid for two years i.e. the candidate will be considered eligible to participate in the admission process for Ph.D. in Central University of Himachal Pradesh upto two years from the date of issue of the certificate.
The candidates who have qualified the Himachal Pradesh Kendriya Vishwavidyalaya Shodh Patrata Pariksha will be considered equivalent to NET, SET, SLET qualified candidates for admission to Ph.D. Programmes of Study of Central University of Himachal Pradesh.
Exemption from Entrance Test
The candidate who has qualified any one of following tests shall be eligible to apply for admission to Ph.D. Programmes of Central University of Himachal Pradesh and need not to appear in and qualify the Himachal Pradesh Kendriya Vishwavidyalaya Shodh Patrata Pariksha.

- SLET
