Calcutta University PhD Pure Mathematics Admission 2022-23 Application Process

• Candidates have to apply in the prescribed form available on www.caluniv.ac.in
• The filled in form along with photocopies of all self attested supporting documents & SBI payment receipt are to be submitted at the departmental office between 12 noon and 3:00 p.m. on all working days.

Application Fee

• Application Fee – Rs. 100/-
• Mode of payment – Online through SBI Collect.

Selection Procedure

• The selection will be based on the:
  • Entrance Examination
  • Interview
• The candidates who have cleared UGC/CSIR (JRF)/NET/SET/SLET/valid GATE/Teacher Fellowship/Inspire Fellowship or have passed equivalent examinations or passed the M.Phil examination shall not be required to appear at the Ph.D. entrance test; however, they are to appear for the interview.

• Date of online test – 26.07.2022 (12:00 noon. – 2:00 p.m. )
• Date of Interview for the candidates qualified – 03.08.2022, 04.08.2022 & 05.08.2022 (11:30 a.m. onwards)
• Syllabus for the Entrance Exam – Topics covered in B.Sc.(Hons.) and M.Sc. courses in Pure Mathematics (excluding topics covered in elective papers).
• Venue of the Admission Test and Interview – Department of Pure Mathematics, University of Calcutta, 35, Ballygunge Circular Road, Kolkata – 700019.
