About APSET
The Andhra Pradesh State Eligibility Test or APSET determines the eligibility of the aspirants for the post of Assistant Professors or Lecturers in the universities and colleges of the state. The officials conduct the recruitment exam in the various cities of Andhra Pradesh.
APSET or Andhra Pradesh State Eligibility Test is a state-level exam for a total of 30 subjects. Candidates qualifying the recruitment exam will be eligible for appointment to the post of lecturer.

Eligibility Criteria for APSET 2021
Academic Requirements
- Candidates who have secured minimum 55% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s Degree or equivalent examination from universities/institutions recognised by UGC is eligible for this Test.
- The Backward Classes (BC) /Scheduled Caste (SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST)/Transgender/persons with disability (PwD) category candidates who have secured minimum 50% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s degree or equivalent examination are eligible for this Test.
- Candidates who are pursuing their Master’s degree or equivalent course or candidates who have appeared for their qualifying Master’s degree (final year) examination and whose result is still awaited or candidates whose qualifying examinations have been delayed may also apply for this test. However, such candidates will be admitted provisionally and shall be considered eligible for award of eligibility for Assistant Professor only after they have passed their Master’s Degree OR equivalent examination with at least 55% marks (50% marks in case of BC / SC / ST / PwD / Transgender category candidates). Such candidates must complete their Master’s degree or equivalent examination within two years from the date of SET result with required percentage of marks, failing which they shall be treated as disqualified.
- The Ph.D.degree holders whose Master’s level examination has been completed by 19th September 1991 (irrespective of date of declaration of result) shall be eligible for a relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks (i.e. from 55% to 50%) for appearing in SET.
- Candidates are advised to appear in the subject of their Post-Graduation only. The candidates, whose Post Graduation subject is not covered in the list of SET subjects may appear in a related subject.
Age Limit
There is no upper age limit for applying for eligibility for test.
APSET 2021 Application Process
Steps to apply for APSET 2021 exam-
Step 1: Registration
- Click on the Register link to register for Andhra Pradesh State Eligibility Test 2021.
- Fill in the required information and enter a password of your choice. Please note that this password along with the register email id will be used to login and complete your registration process.
Step 2: Application Fee Payment
- After registration Click on the “Make Payment” link, you will be redirected to the payment gateway website.
- Application form processing fees as stated below is to be paid through online system only by Credit Card/ Debit Card (RuPay/Visa/MasterCard/Maestro), Internet Banking for which the convenience charges shall be applicable in addition to the application fee.
Step 3: Fill in the remaining details
- On payment of the Application Fee, the same will reflect in your application profile.
- Fill in the remaining details i.e. educational qualification, choice of examination centre etc. and click “Submit”.
- Upload your scanned photograph and signature in jpg/jpeg format only. File size of the Photograph should be between 15kb to 50kb, Signature should be between 5kb to 20kb. The online application system will not allow to upload files smaller/larger than the mentioned sizes.
- If you claim any reservation upload the necessary caste/ disability / economically weaker section certificate. The size of scanned copy for caste / disability / economically weaker section certificate should be between 50kb to 300kb. The online application system will not allow to upload files smaller/larger than the mentioned sizes.
Step 4: Submit the form
- Submit the form and take a print of your filled in Application form generated, for your records and future reference.

APSET 2021 Exam Centre
Exam will be conducted the test in various cities of the state.

APSET 2021 Admit Card
- The APSET 2021 Admit Card will be available via online mode.
- Candidates can download the APSET admit card by login with their credentials.
- Candidates must check the exam details such as date, timings, venue etc. in the hall ticket.
- In case of any discrepancy, candidates must inform the concerned authority for correction.

APSET 2021 Exam Pattern 2021
Candidates must go through the pattern to get an overview of the ASPET paper.
- There will be two papers- Paper I and Paper-II.
- The candidate will have to mark the responses for questions of Paper – I and Paper – II on the Optical Mark Reader (OMR) Sheet provided along with the test booklet
- There is no negative marking.

Paper-I
- Paper-Ishall be of general nature, intended to assess the teaching/research aptitude of the candidate.
- It will primarily be designed to test reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate.
- Paper-I shall consist of 50 objective type questions. Each question will carry 2 marks.
Paper-II
- Paper-II shall consist of 100 objective type questions based on the subject selected by the candidate.
- Each question will carry 2 marks.
Medium of Question Paper
- The question paper – I which is common for all candidates appearing APSET will be bilingual (English and Telugu).
- Paper – II for the following subjects a) Commerce b) Economics c) Education d) History e) Political Science f) Public Administration and g) Sociology will be bilingual (English and Telugu). All the remaining papers are in English only except Hindi, Sanskrit, Telugu and Urdu.
