University of Kalyani PG Admission 2023-24 Eligibility Criteria

For PG

• Applicants should possess a three years Undergraduate Honours Degree following the 10+2+3 system.
• Appearing candidates are not eligible to apply. The final result should be published on or before the last date of online application.

For MFA

• Minimum qualification: Bachelor of Fine Arts / Visual Arts (B.F.A./B.V. A) – 4 years degree course from any U.G.C. recognized University or Institution.
• Candidates who have passed their qualifying examination in or before 2019 are not eligible to apply.

For MSc Data Science

• B.Sc. (Hons/Major) in any discipline or BCA or B.E./B.Tech. in any discipline.
• The candidates must have studied mathematics in every level of their education

For MTech

• MTech Communication Engineering:
  • B.Tech / B. E. in Electronics & Telecommunication Engg. Or Electronics & Instrumentation Engg. Or Electronics & Communication Engg. Or Information Technology.

University of Kalyani PG Admission 2023-24 Application Process

• Candidates have to apply online on the link available at university website.
• Read instruction given there carefully before filling application form.

Selection Process

• As per West Bengal Govt. Rules, there shall be reservation of 80% seats in each Programme for candidates who have Graduation with Honours in the respective subject from Home University (Kalyani University) and 20% seats will be for candidates from other universities. However, if 80% seats reserved for Home University students remain unfilled, those will be filled up with the candidates of other universities. Similarly, if the 20% seats reserved for the students from other universities remain unfilled, those will be filled up with the students of Home University.
• Students of the University of Kalyani mean those candidates who have their qualifying degree (B.A. /B.Sc. / B.Com. Honours etc.) from the University of Kalyani and have their latest registration under the University of Kalyani and have not been migrated.
• The reservation in seats and relaxation in the qualifying marks in favour of the reserved categories shall be as per the W.B. Govt. rules.
• Merit List for 80% category (Home University) and 20% category (Other University) will be based on CGPA (in case of unavailability of CGPA, percentage of marks obtained in the Honours subject will be considered.). In case of tie, aggregate marks of best five subjects, obtained in Higher Secondary Examination, will be taken into consideration.

For MSc Data Dcience

• All candidates must appear in an admission test followed by an interview.
• The merit list will be prepared based on following formula: Merit score = 70% of Written Test score + 30% of Interview score.
• Written test syllabus: Undergraduate-level mathematics and basic knowledge about computers, its components and its operations.

For MFA

• Test Total Marks – 100
• Candidates have to submit Portfolio (consisting of a minimum of 4 paintings) through email – 25marks (Portfolio will be submitted only by the candidates eligible for Online Admission Test & Interview, the email ID and details regarding this submission will be informed at the time of publication of list of eligible candidates for Online Admission Test)
• Practical Interview – 50 marks (Original artworks to be shown during the course of the practical interview)
• Theoretical Interview (through online link) – 25 marks
• Merit List: Preparation of Merit list: Merit list will be based on percentage of marks obtained in Bachelor of Fine Arts / Visual Arts (B.F.A./B.V. A) and percentage of marks obtained in the Admission Test, giving equal weightage.
