Raiganj University UG Admission 2023-24 Eligibility Criteria

Applicants who have passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) or an equivalent exam are eligible to apply for admission to the 3-year UG and 4-year UG (Honours) or UG (Honours with Research) Programmes, provided they have also passed in English with full marks of at least 100.
Applicants who have passed Vocational Examination conducted by the West Bengal State Council of Vocational Education and Training in regular mode shall be eligible to take admission to the 3 -Year Undergraduate Programme only. No applicant, however, shall be admitted if more than five years have passed since the candidate’s prior qualifying examination year.
In case of other Boards/Councils, a candidate shall have to pass in five recognized subjects, of which one shall be English, of full marks not being less than 100 each. A candidate passing in four subjects shall not be eligible for admission.
A candidate taking up 4-year UG (Honours) or UG (Honours with Research) OR 3 -Year Undergraduate Programme with single major and single minor must have obtained:
- (a) Students (Unreserved/OBC-A & OBC-B) who like to pursue any of the above mentioned Programmes except Microbiology (Honours), must have to be qualified their 10+2 examinations with the following marks: 55% marks in aggregate and 45% marks in the subject or related subject at the previous qualifying examination except Microbiology (Honours.).
- (b) Students with PWD category (GEN/OBC-A & OBC-B) who like to pursue any of the above mentioned Programmes except Microbiology (Honours)* must have to be qualified their 10+2 examinations with the following marks: 50% marks in aggregate and 45% marks in the subject or related subject at the previous qualifying examination except Microbiology (Honours.). *For Microbiology (Honours), a candidate should have passed the 10+2 examinations with minimum 50% marks in aggregate.
- (c) Students (SC/ST Category) who seek to pursue any of the above-mentioned Programmes except Microbiology (Honours.) Must have to be qualified their 10+2 examinations with the following marks: 50% marks in the aggregate and minimum 40% marks in the relevant subject at the 10+2 examinations in which they want to pursue Honours.
- (d) The admission to Under –Graduate Degree Programs will be governed by the guidelines of the University and the Higher Education Department of Govt. of West Bengal as framed from time to time.
- (e) A Candidate shall be allowed to pursue any one of the Under – Graduate Programs of the University (not more than one) in a particular Academic Session.
Reservation of Seats: There will be reservation of seats for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates as Per Govt. Rules. For differently – able candidates minimum disability at least 40% Will be considered.
