Raiganj University PhD Admission 2023-24 Eligibility Criteria

• Master’s Degree holders with at least 55% marks in aggregate, or an equivalent grade on the point scale of the grading system followed by the university. A relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50%, or an equivalent relaxation of grade, may be allowed for those belonging to the SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer) / differently abled and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the University Grants Commission or other statutory bodies from time to time.
• Candidates who have completed/ waiting for the Final Semester result for M.Phil. from this university with at least 55% marks in aggregate, or an equivalent grade on the point scale of the grading system followed by the university, shall be eligible to proceed to do research work leading to Ph. D. Degree. A relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50%, or an equivalent relaxation of grade, may be allowed for those belonging to the SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer) / differently abled and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the University Grants Commission or other statutory bodies from time to time.
• A person whose M.Phil. dissertation has been evaluated and the viva voce is pending under any Department / Centre or Research Programme of the university, may be provisionally admitted to the Ph.D. programme of the university but the admission will be confirmed if the candidate qualifies in the M.Phil. degree with the requisite percentage of marks / grade.
