NIFTEM Thanjavur PhD Programs

• Ph.D. (Food Technology) in Food Process Engineering – 14 Seats
• Ph.D. (Food Technology) in Food Process Technology – 15 Seats

Eligibility Criteria for NIFTEM Thanjavur PhD Admission 2024

For PhD (Food Technology) in Food Process Engineering

• Candidate should possess a 4 years Bachelor’s degree and 2 years Master’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Food Technology / Food Process Engineering / Agricultural and Food Engineering / Food Technology and Management / Food Processing and Preservation Technology / Food Science and Technology / Food Process Technology / Post Harvest Technology / Agricultural Process Engineering / Food Safety and Quality Assurance / Processing and Food Engineering / Dairy Engineering / Dairy Technology / Fish Process Engineering.
• A candidate who has undergone course credit system with a minimum OGPA of 3.00 out of 4.00 or 7.00 out of 10 or 70% aggregate alone is eligible to apply. For SC/ST candidates, a pass in the qualifying degree is sufficient.

For PhD (Food Technology) in Food Process Technology

• Candidate should possess a 4 years Bachelor’s degree and 2 years Master’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Food Technology / Food Science and Technology / Food Safety and Quality Assurance / Food Science and Nutrition / Food Science and Quality Control / Food Process Engineering / Food Process Technology / Processing and Food Engineering / Agricultural Process Engineering / Food Technology and Management / Dairy Engineering / Dairy Technology / Fish Process Engineering.
• A candidate who has undergone course credit system with a minimum OGPA of 3.00 out of 4.00 or 7.00 out of 10 or 70% aggregate alone is eligible to apply. For SC/ST candidates, a pass in the qualifying degree is sufficient.

NIFTEM Thanjavur PhD Admission 2024 Application Process

• Candidates have to apply online through official website of NIFTEM Thanjavur.
• Read instructions carefully before filing application form.
• A candidate shall apply for any subjects in Doctoral programs based on the eligibility criteria. Candidate has to pay separate fee for each subject. 
• All applicants should apply by ONLINE ONLY (www.niftem-t.ac.in) till last date. 
• The application fee should be paid online by e-Payment in the link for all degree programmes. 
• OBC-NCL/EWS candidates should upload scanned copy of the latest certificate (check validity period before uploading) – by the competent authority.
• SC/ST candidates should upload scanned copy of the certificate issued by competent authority. 
• The candidates seeking admission against differently abled set apart for Hearing impaired /Orthopedically Differently Abled / Visually Impaired should produce the recent certificate from the Medical Board of the District concerned certifying the nature and extent of disability in percentage. Certificates obtained from an individual Doctor will not be considered and such applications will be summarily rejected 
• List of original documents to be scanned for uploading while filling online application

  • Proof for UG/PG Degree – provisional / degree certificate
  • UG/PG – Mark sheet / transcript card
  • EWS/OBC-NCL/PwD/SC/ST certificate.

  • First page of publications 
• The online application without uploading the scanned copies of Proof of Date of Birth, Proof for UG/PG Degree, UG/PG – Mark sheet / transcript card and Scanned photo & signature will be summarily rejected without any intimation. 
• The online application without uploading the scanned copies of required certificate for claiming EWS/OBC-NCL/PwD/SC/ST, will be considered for General category. 
• All the original certificates for which scanned copies have been uploaded while filling online application, must be produced for verification at the time of scrutiny. Candidates who fail to produce original certificates will be rejected at any stage. 
• All Communications regarding entrance test/selection/admission will be notified only by e-mail and hence, candidates are requested to provide active e-mail ID and mobile number compulsorily and check their e-mail and SMS daily. Important dates/notification will be hosted on institute website. NIFTEM-T will not be held any responsibility for failure in delivery of e-mails.

• Selection is purely based on merit basis only.
• Ranking will be done based on undergraduate & postgraduate marks and NIFTEM Thanjavur Entrance Examination-2024 followed by Personal interview
• NIFTEM Thanjavur Entrance Examination-2024 and Personal interview will be conducted at NIFTEM Thanjavur main campus.
• Reservation policy based on government norms
