Eligibility Criteria for IIIT Hyderabad PhD Admission 2024 (Spring)
Applicants must satisfy the following criterion.
- Completed B.E/B.Tech/M.E/M.Tech all branches, M.Sc, MCA and MA (Maths).
Institute especially encourage applicants with any of the following.
- Good-quality research publications
- Participation in research-oriented projects
- Work experience in R&D labs / Industry
IIIT Hyderabad PhD Admission 2024 (Spring) Application Process
- Candidates have to apply online on the official website https://pgadmissions.iiit.ac.in/
- Read instruction given there carefully before filling application form.
- Complete the online application process, which has two parts – Registration Form and Application Form.
- Please note that incomplete applications will be desk-rejected and not be considered even for the first level screening.

Selection Procedure
- Applicants are first screened based on their application, which includes their academic performance in relevant subjects, standard exam scores (such as GATE), merit scholarships (such as CSIR-UGC NET) and CV/relevant work experience in IT industry/R&D labs.
- Shortlisted applicants are then invited for a technical interview conducted physically at IIIT Hyderabad campus.
- Final selection is based on performance in the interview. The decision of the interview committee is final and binding.
Financial Support
- Full-time Ph.D. students are given scholarships that provide a monthly stipend. The stipend amount varies from Rs. 31,000/- to Rs. 35,000/- depending on the stage of the student in the Ph.D. program.
- Students are provided generous travel support to present their published research work in reputed conferences.
Many of Ph.D. students have been awarded corporate fellowships such as from Google, TCS and Ripple. The fellowship amount under these schemes is Rs 50,000/- per month.

Selection Procedure
- For Ph.D programmes candidates will be shortlisted for subject interview based on a written General Aptitude Test. The decision on final offer of admission is solely based on the interview performance.
- Applicants for PhD in Human Sciences program need not take the General Aptitude Test. You will be asked to submit a research statement after the application deadline. The shortlisting for the interview will be done based on your CV and research statement.
