Applications are invited for Full Time/Part Time admission to Ph.D. programs in various departments. The admission is made on the basis of valid GATE/NET (UGC/CSIR/SLET) scores/qualifying of entrance examination.

Graphic Era PhD Admission 2023 Eligibility Criteria

• A 1-year/2-semester master’s degree programme after a 4-year/8-semester bachelor’s degree programme or a 2-year/4-semester master’s degree programme after a 3-year bachelor’s degree programme or qualifications declared equivalent to the master’s degree by the corresponding statutory regulatory body, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed or equivalent qualification from a foreign educational institution accredited by an assessment and accreditation agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country to assess, accredit or assure quality and standards of the educational institution.
• A relaxation of 5% marks or its equivalent grade may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-Abled, Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and other categories of candidates, in accordance with the UGC.
• Provided that a candidate seeking admission after a 4-year/8-semester bachelor’s degree programme should have a minimum of 75% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade on a point scale wherever the grading system is followed. A relaxation of 5% marks or its equivalent grade may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-Abled, Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the Commission from time to time.
• *The candidates who are pursuing final semester of respective degree/waiting for results may also apply
• Candidates who have completed the M.Phil. programme with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed or equivalent qualification from a foreign educational institution accredited by an assessment and accreditation agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country to assess, accredit or assure quality and standards of educational institutions, shall be eligible for admission to the Ph.D. programme. A relaxation of 5% marks or its equivalent grade may be allowed for those belonging toSC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-Abled, Economically Weaker Section (EWS)

• For filling the form in offline mode, the application form can be downloaded from the university website’s link: www.geu.ac.in (Research Tab>Doctoral Programmes). However, the application form along with the attested copies of educational certificates may be submitted to the Office of Dean Research, Ground Floor, CS/IT Block, Graphic Era deemed to be University, 566/6, Bell Road, Clement Town, Dehradun-248002 along with the fee of Rs. 1500/ – swipe via debit card at account office of the university, by online payment: https://link.geu.ac.in/phdfee or NEFT Payment .

• The admission is made on the basis of GATE/NET (UGC/CSIR)/SLET scores or Research Entrance Test followed by interview.
• Valid UGC – (JRF / CSIR – NET/ INSPIRE / GATE) qualified candidates are exempted from written test.

Syllabus

• The papers will be divided into 2 sections; each section will carry equal marks (50 each) and a total of 100 marks.
• Section I : Research Aptitude (50 Marks)
• Section II: MCQ relating to the domain area you have applied for RET Syllabus is as per GATE/UGC NET)
• The Entrance test shall be qualifying with qualifying marks as 50%.

Interview

• (50 Marks) Qualified candidates are required to discuss research interest/project before duly constituted Department Research Committee.

Research Associateship/ Fellowship

Graphic Era Deemed to be University Dehradun will award Associateships / Fellowships to the Full Time research scholars under following categories, viz.,

Institute Fellowship

• Fellowship of Rs. 36,000/- per month shall be awarded only to valid: UGC -JRF / CSIR – NET/ INSPIRE/ GATE to full time research scholars.
• Full time merit position holders in the entrance examination, shall be awarded Institutional fellowship of Rs. 32,000/- per month.
• UGC NET (Assistant Professor) qualified may be exempted from written test however Institutional fellowship of Rs. 32,000/- per month shall be awarded on the basis of criteria mentioned in clause b.
• Scholarship continuation will be subjected to satisfactory performance in each semester.
• Additional fund upto Rs. 2 lacs per annum to be provided to UGC – JRF / CSIR – NET/ INSPIRE/ GATE qualified full time research scholars.
