BRABU PhD Admission Eligibility Criteria
- Candidate seeking admission to the Ph.D. Programme should have a Master’s Degree with at least 55% Marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade ‘B’ in the UGC 7 point scale (or an equivalent grade in point scale wherever grading system is followed) in the subject/in allied subject from recognized university.
- A relaxation of 5% of marks i.e. from 55% to 50% or an equivalent relaxation of grade may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/BC/EBC/Differently-abled categories of candidates.

BRABU PhD Admission Test PAT 2022 Details
Written Test Pattern (Expected)
There will be two papers of 100 marks each
| Paper – I | Paper-I – will be objective type on qualitative teaching and research aptitude and will carry 100 marks. There will be 50 questions and each question will carry 2 marks. |
| Paper – II | Paper-II – will also be objective type in the subject concern and will carry 100 marks. The syllabus of this paper shall be based as of UGC NET. There will be 50 questions and each question will carry 2 marks. |

Exemptions from the written test of PhD Admission Test (PAT) – 2021
- Candidate who have passed CSIR NET/UGC NET/JRF/BET of BRABU and/or have secured grants for research such as fellowship/scholarships offered by DBT/ICMRACAR/DST/CSIR/RACHR etc. will be exempted from Ph.D. Admission Test.
- Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor who have been appointed on substantive post in the UGC Pay scale in the teaching Department of the University or a Constituent College of this University, who have completed their probation successfully, with an experience of at least of two years of uninterrupted service would be exempted from the Test. Teachers appointed in self-finance Courses and teachers belonging to those colleges running on self-finance basis will not be exempted from the Test.
- Non-teaching employees of this University, who are holding substantive appointment for more than five years and have secured at least 55% marks in Master’s Degree in the subject concerned, and have published at least two research papers in any reputed referred journals or journals identified by the UGC would also be exempted from the Test.
