MAHE PhD Admission 2023-24 (Batch-2) Eligibility Criteria
All candidates MUST have obtained a qualifying degree in full-time mode and a candidate seeking admission to the PhD program MUST fulfill the following eligibility criteria

MAHE PhD Admission Application Process
- Candidates has to apply online through the Manipal Academy website.
- Read all instructions and relevant information brochure available on the University website.
- The application fee can be paid through Debit/Credit card, internet banking.
Admission Process
- The admission to the Dr. TMA Pai Scholarship PhD program and Self-Financed PhD Program, at MAHE Manipal is through All India PhD Manipal Entrance Test (MET), followed by subject level institution / department interview for the PhD MET shortlists.
- Candidates with UGC / CSIR – NET – JRF / ICMR – JRF / DBT – JRF (BET) / JEST / INSPIRE / NDF and having a valid fellowship at the time of admission and candidates under AICTE-QIP program are eligible to apply for Full-Time PhD program under this category. These candidates are exempted from appearing the All India online PhD Manipal Entrance Test (MET).

Syllabus for PhD Manipal Entrance Test (MET)
Part A: Research Aptitude
Aptitude test will be used to determine an individual’s propensity to perform in this written examination, pertaining to general aptitude, quantitative reasoning and analysis, language, research aptitude and statistical measures.
Part B: Subject Specific
The subject specific paper will comprise questions pertaining to the Stream & PhD Test Domain chosen by the applicant at the time of completing the Application Form.
Dr. TMA Pai Scholarship
MAHE Manipal provides Dr. TMA Pai Scholarships to the eligible & selected candidates as followship.
The scholarship will be paid through the respective institutions :
- Probationary period (NOT more than 6 months) – Rs. 25,000 / month
- First Year – Rs. 31,000 / month
- Second Year – Rs. 31,000 / month
- Third Year – Rs. 35,000 / month

Candidates under AICTE-QIP program and post graduates with UGC / CSIR – NET – JRF / ICMR – JRF / DBT – JRF / JEST / INSPIRE / NDF and having a valid fellowship at the time of admission are eligible to apply for Full-Time PhD program under this category.
Admission Process
- Selection to the PhD program under this category would be by a panel of experts through presentation and an interview
- Such candidates are exempted from the All India online PhD Manipal Entrance Test (MET) conducted by MAHE Manipal
Category 2: Dr. TMA Pai Scholarships
Candidates interested in applying for the Dr. TMA Pai Scholarship MUST appear for the admission process through All India PhD Manipal Entrance Test (MET).
Admission Process
- Candidates must appear for All India online PhD Manipal Entrance Test (MET) conducted by MAHE Manipal
- Shortlisted candidates who qualify through PhD MET, will be subjected to an institute / department level interview.
- Candidates shortlisted through the interview process will be eligible for grant-in-aid instituted by MAHE Manipal under the Dr. TMA Pai PhD Scholarship programme.
Category 3: Self-Financed PhD
Admission Process
- Candidates must appear for All India online PhD Manipal Entrance Test (MET) conducted by MAHE Manipal
- Shortlisted candidates who qualify through PhD MET, will be subjected to an institute / department level interview.
